    Admiral Paul Zukunft was quite frank in discussing his service's financial concerns.  His comments to reporters are covered in this article published by BreakingDefense.com.  The Coast Guard has been underfunded for many years, but most previous Commandants haven't spoken out this strongly.

    The Coast Guard's sixth National Security Cutter was commissioned in Seattle April 1. 

    See the story, with photos HERE And here's some VIDEO of the ceremony.  The newly-commissioned ship will be based at Alameda, California.

    The existing ship which previously had the same name is now named "USCGC Douglas Munro."
