The Seattle-based icebreaker, a Council-adopted unit, has been supporting Arctic studies conducted for the Office of Naval Research.  And there's a University of Washington connection.  Read the DETAILS. 

The Seattle-based heavy icebreaker is back at Pier 36, following a six-month drydock period in Vallejo, California.  There was plenty of work to do, as you'll see in this Coast Guard NEWS RELEASE.

The Coast Guard has ordered seven Over-the Horizon Cutter Boats from Safe Boats International of Bremerton.  Read the DETAILS.  

The pharmacy was selected for the 2018 Navy Pharmacy Team Award! 

The Coast Guard held its annual memorial ceremony for Signalman First Class Douglas Munro Sept. 27 in Cle Elum. WA.  Munro was fatally wounded Sept. 27, 1942, while evacuating U.S. Marines from Guadalcanal.  He is the only Coast Guard Medal of Honor recipient.  See the PHOTOS.
