President's Letter
May 2010
Definition of a Veteran: “A Veteran – whether active duty, retired,
National Guard or reserve – is someone who, at one point in his or her
life, wrote a blank check made payable to the “Unites States of America’
for an amount of ‘up to and including my life”…
I think that most people these days realize that our military servicemen and
women are True Heroes. That said, until recently it has been something of a
“secret” that today’s military provides Corporate America with some of the best
employees in the world. Military candidates, whether “Retirees” or those
separating from the military before retiring (“Separtees”) bring a variety and
wide set of skills and experiences that are fast becoming in short supply in the
general American workforce. Junior Military Officers (JMOs), Senior Enlisted
Personnel and Enlisted Technicians are sought for their technical experience and
leadership qualities such as loyalty, work ethic and integrity, which
distinguishes them in the civilian workplace. Military candidates come from a
resultoriented culture and they bring a strong sense of responsibility,
exceptional problem solving skills, outstanding training and on-the-job
experience (in combination), they can work in teams or in a stand-alone
environment, they are adept under pressure and they are drug free.
A testimonial from a very satisfied employer: “Serving in the military is
demanding, disciplined, and a portal to a technology based proving ground.
Success while serving in this environment directly relates to maturity,
knowledge, diversity and selflessness, creating top notch candidates for
technical expertise and leadership/management in industry”.
The reason for this article… the next time that you, the employer, has a need
for an outstanding employee I hope that you will consider military candidates…
you will not be disappointed.

On another front, I am pleased to announce that we have teamed up with the
Everett and Bremerton Councils to support the Fleet Week Welcome Picnic at
Everett for the visiting ship crews on August 2nd as part of Seafair 2010.
Working together we can make a difference!
